TaxonomyThe Cronquist system Passifloraceae in the order Violales. In the Apg3 classification Passifloraceae is placed in Malpighiales. Malesherbiaceae and Turneraceae are included in the Passifloraceae.
In the Plant theory Passifloraceae is treated the same way. It is placed in Subphase 2.
