IntroductionSubphase 2 is the situation where they have been accepted as part of a group but it is quite fragile. They still have the feeling that they have to earn their position. Their place in the group is not straightforward. They have the feeling of having a minor position in the group, which can make them shy and subordinate. They follow the rules of the group in order to get accepted. They have a strong fear that they will not get accepted anymore and will be rejected by the group. Due to this they have the tendency to do too much for the group. The balance between giving and receiving is easily distorted.
AggressionWhen they have given too much they feel others have used them. They can get irritated when they are treated too much as minors. They feel belittled and humiliated. This can lead to strong aggressive behaviour. They feel that they have a right to their position in the group. If their position is not right, they can develop strong aggression and rage. They can have the feeling that they really have to fight for their place.
UnsureThey are part of a group but their position is unsure. They feel that they might not be accepted or that they still have to earn their position. They feel that they have to give a lot, or adapt. When that gets too much they can build up a lot of anger which can be expressed or held in. Here we see a quality of yes or no. They can go into an acceptance and adaptation, or into a denial and refusal.
They like to be carried as they cannot stand on their own legs very well yet.
Their attitude can go from fawning to aggression.
