Region: tropical Asia, India, Indochina, Malay Archipelago; Tanzania; introduced to Puerto Rico, Cuba.
Use: ornamental, in a small pot, hanging basket, terrarium design.
BotanyFern; spikemoss; perennial; erect; shrub up to 20 to 60 cm tall.
Stem: spreads by underground creeping rhizomes; long, wiry, branching, presenting a cushioned appearance.
Leaves: different shades of green; scaly; coarse; tripinnate.
Spores: distinct male and female, known as microspores and megaspores respectively.
