Case by Jan Scholten.
Case, girl, 3, autism. She has autism and barely makes contact. She lives like a zombie. She doesn't talk at all, and only makes sounds like "mmmmmm". The parents think she understands more than she shows. She is generally happy and sweet. She loves her mother very much and kisses and embraces her often. She is unhappy when her mother is in the hospital. She only makes contact with people when she wants to, but most of the time she ignores them. She has trouble concentrating and focusing on things, except when she is watching television. She is rarely angry, only when she does not get what she wants, for example, food or going on the seesaw. For example, she gets angry when the seesaw is occupied by others. She can be obsessive with numbers, pointing to numbers from 1 to 10 and back. Her body gets stiff when she gets excited and then she raises her fingers. For example, she can get excited when she sees a waterfall or ducks in a pond. She likes bathing very much.
The problems started with aggression after she was vaccinated and her mother had pneumonia. She is constantly running around, frantic, like a maniac. This is worse when she is constipated and the environment is harsh.
The biggest physical problem is chronic constipation, arising simultaneously with the autism. Sometimes this alternates with diarrhoea for a few days. Her stool is very hard and she doesn't have the strength to push it out. The constipation also alternates with insomnia.
She almost always suffers from ear problems and points to it constantly. The diagnosis is middle ear infection with effusion. She suffers from redness in her face and frequent blinking of her eyes. She has been treated with homeopathy, bowel nosodes, vitamin and mineral supplements, but all to no avail.
Her mother was very nauseous during pregnancy after the 20th week. She was a very wanted child. Her mother had yellow fever the month before pregnancy. The delivery was by cesarean section because her mother was so nauseated. In the process, she swallowed a lot of her mother's blood.
Her sleep is highly disturbed. She cannot fall asleep without violently moving her body and head up and down. She wakes up frequently. The insomnia makes her mother exhausted. She has very good contact with her father whom she also loves to embrace. She is not so fond of her younger brother, who, on the contrary, is very keen on contact with her. Her mother can get anxious easily and thinks she has passed that on to her children. Her mother can also be obsessive about illness. Her father had a difficult childhood because his father was hard on his mother. Her father's family is very closed and cannot express feelings.
