Region: southeast Asia.
Habitat: attached to rocks, roots, driftwood; accepts all kinds of water, even weakly brackish; accepts all kinds of light qualities, 21 to 24°Celsius, up to 29 to 32°C.
Used: freshwater aquariums, foreground plant, moss wall, protecting young animals from cannibalistic adults, increasing oxygen levels; vivariums.
taxonomyThe identity of this well-known plant is not resolved; formerly thought to be Vesicularia dubyana, it may actually be Taxiphyllum barbieri. It was originally described as Isopterygium barbieri.
