666.47.13 Tanacetum vulgare, CaseMan, 55, fatigue.
He has a whole series of complaints: palpitations, dyspnoea, fatigue, hoarseness, haemorrhoids, joint pains, backache, abdominal pains, splitting nails, varicose veins on his calves and ankles.
The palpitations are worse from fears of being too late, or when he is lying in bed. His heart beat is first irregular, then some pushing beats with the feeling that his head would burst. It started 15 years ago when work was very hectic.
His energy is very low, “the candle is burnt”, there’s no energy left; he has given it all.
His backache started in military service. They had promised him a good education but he had to do all kinds of useless jobs. He refused that and when he also humiliated the royal family he was degraded and sent to prison. He felt disappointed, humiliated and ill done by. The backaches became worse after a sciatica some 10 years ago, which was operated on. The backaches are > stooping, > hot shower, > sleeping on a water bed, > supporting himself with his arms, < worries, < problems.
He has pains in the elbows, right shoulder, arms, muscles as before an influenza. The hoarseness comes from his frequent throat infections.
His abdominal pains are diagnosed as spastic colon. He has pains, sometimes also diarrhoea and vomiting.
He also developed Menière: vertigo, nausea, << moving the head, sensation being drunk, < 9 am, > lying still.
He has a troublesome relationship with his managers. He works as a salesman, travelling most of his time to the clients to sell the company products. But in reality he is a troubleshouter; when something goes wrong with the products he has to calm down the clients and propose satisfying arrangements. He is very good at it and says he has saved millions for the company this way. But he does not get the credit for it, feels disrespected. His manager wants to show him who is the boss.
Some years ago he was fired. He found a letter of dismissal when he came back from vacation. He felt it as such an injustice that he went to court and the judge ordered the company to take him back as an employee. The injustice was enormous because he worked always for 100%, even more, he was the best of all the salespeople. Something in him broke when he read the letter of dismissal, he developed a grudge. The last years the problems at work have increased. The company wants computers to be used by everyone but he feels too old to adjust to it. Also the traffic has become terrible with all the traffic jams.
When he tells the stories one feels that he is angry but he keeps it in. He feels pushed to do more and more but it is of no help to him, does not give him anymore respect or gratitude.
He is interested in politics, feels responsible for society, hates to see criminality and dirt. It makes him feel sad. When he sees garbage in the streets, he cleans it. He worked for the council of the city for a few years but he got into trouble there too because he was not diplomatic, always saying just what he thought. He is very persistent, the others call him “nagging”.
He likes to be free, his own boss. That’s why he likes to be on the road and refused the offer to become a manager himself.
His anger is big but restrained. He has to control himself “otherwise telephones will go through the windows”. It’s worse when his manager belittles his worries and cares. He can weep from feeling powerless then.
He has a loving wife and 2 daughters that are doing well.
He has a fear of accidents, becoming handicapped and dependent.
His education was strict. His parents had a difficult relationship, going from high heights to deep lows. He felt powerless and full of grief. As a child he was restless, trying to makes jokes out of everything because “there’s so little to laugh about in the world”. This was also provoked by the Second World War and the starvation winter. His school results were poor.
He had a difficult birth.
As a child he had influenza every year. Once he had it so badly that his parents and the doctors thought he had already died. The last 10 years or so he gets a vaccination for influenza but it makes him feel worse and it does not prevent the influenza. With the influenza he has: high fever, shivering, lots of sweat, pain everywhere, lameness especially in the arms, dyspnoea, the delusion that his hands are small, startling from noises, < 3 till 5 am, < 4 pm. The last winter he had it around Christmas and he had the feeling he was dead already. But that did not worry him at all, it was more the opposite that he felt peaceful after all his efforts and struggling. It reminded him of the situation where he was almost drowned when he was 12.
At 12 he had severe hayfever: he was sneezing so much that he collapsed from it. It was terrible for him. Once he was terrified so much from the hayfever that he tried to drown himself when he lost his mind.
He smoked most of his life but stopped at 45. For years he did not have taste or smell due to smoking.
Weather: <- too hot, <- grey weather.Sweat: copious on the head.
Time: < 7 am.
Food: vegetarian.
Sleep: he wakes frequently with all his troubling thoughts.
Dream: he is flying a small airplane, his daughter is passenger; he has to watch everything very carefully, has to fly under electric cables, has to do the wildest tricks to save himself and his daughter, it’s very unpleasant.
Dream: he is too slow to follow a group of friends.
Dream: animals that have been slaughtered but are still alive.
Dream: slaughtered cows are looking at him.
Dream: he has to leave his house.
Dream: he goes back home but the street is closed, so he has to find and buy another house; it gives him the feeling of being encased, losing his freedom.
Dream: being stabbed from behind.
AnalysisAsteraceae: influenza with high fever and shivering; hayfever, fear of accidents.
Lanthanides: interest in politics; fear of becoming dependent.
Stage 13: thinks he is right, easily angry, in politics, against his manager but he holds himself back; nagging.
Together this leads to Tanacetum.
Follow upAfter Tanacetum MK he feels much better. His energy is much better. This vertigo is much better. He has hardly any palpitations anymore. In general he feels much better.
After three more repetitions of Tanacetum MK he is doing better, he sleeps better and he has fewer palpitations. Gradually his irritations have diminished. Again three months later and three more repetitions he is doing very well. He has made a long travel to China, a thing he couldn’t do anymore. He has become much calmer. In the past he felt threatened from all sides especially from his company but now has distanced himself from the problems. He feels great.
