Synonym: Ciliaria bronchialis; Leptasea bronchialis; Saxifraga caulescens; Saxifraga congesta; Saxifraga derbekii; Saxifraga nitida; Saxifraga spinulosa.
Region: north east Asia, Amur, Buryatiya, Chita, Inner Mongolia, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk, Manchuria, Mongolia, Primorye, West Siberia, Yakutskiya; west China, Japan; naturalized in central and south. Europe.
Habitat: shady cliffs, mossy rocks; low altitudes; naturalized on walls in Europe; suitable for moist, light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils and can grow in heavy clay and nutritionally poor soils, acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils; grows in semi-shade, light woodland.
BotanyHerb; perennial; evergreen; 20 cm tall, 30 cm wide. at a medium rate.
It is hardy to zone (UK) 5 and is not frost tender. It is in leaf all year, in flower from July to August.
