BotanyHerb; perennial; erect 0.5 to 1 metre tall.
Leaves: opposite; lance-shaped to nearly oval; few cm long; hairless to fussy, aromatic.
Inflorescences: in clusters; about the stem just above each upper pair of leaves.
Flowers: whitish upper lip, purplish lower lip, sometimes with spots; blooming from June through September.
Pollination: by bees, flies, butterflies, moths, birds.
