English: Crow's ash; Flindosy; Australian teak.
Genus: 17 species.
Region: north-eastern Australia.
BotanyTree; to 40 m tall.
Stem: buttressed trunk.
Leaves: pinnate, 5 to 13 egg-shaped to elliptical leaflets, 24 to 130 mm long, 8 to 43 mm wide; petiolule up to 3 mm long and the end leaflet on a petiolule sessile or on a petiolule up to 32 mm long.
Inflorescence: panicles, on the ends of branchlets; usually include a few male-only flowers.
Flowers: white to cream; sepals 5, 2 mm long; petals 5, white to cream-coloured, 6 to 7 mm long, densely hairy on the back and part of the front; flowering from September to October.
Fruit: woody capsules, with short, rough points; 45 to 100 mm long.
Seeds: winged; 34 to 50 mm long.
