English: Ciguatera fish poisoning; CFP; Ciguatera
Cause: by eating reef fish, contaminated with certain toxins, ciguatoxin and maitotoxin, made by a small marine organism, Gambierdiscus toxicus, eaten by herbivorous fish which in turn are eaten by larger carnivorous fish like barracuda, grouper, moray eel, amberjack, sea bass, and sturgeon; onset of half an hour to up to two days after eating; symptoms remain for a few weeks to months.
General
Weather: sensitivity to hot and cold.
BodyGeneral: dizzy; weak.
Nervous: numb.
Heart: slow heart rate; low blood pressure.
Stomach: vomiting.
Rectum: diarrhea.
Skin: itchy.
