English: Lemon starbush.
Synonym: Asterolasia correifolia; Phebalium asteriscophorum.
Region: southern continental Australia, New South Wales, Victoria.
Habitat: forest, along edges of watercourses.
BotanySlender, erect shrub; 1 to 2 m tall.
Stem: branches with woolly, grey to brown, star-shaped hairs.
Leaves: spatula-shaped, egg-shaped, wedge-shaped or elliptic; 3 to 30 mm, 2 to 10 mm wide; short petiole; upper surface is ± glabrous, lower surface is covered with woolly, brownish or whitish hairs.
Inflorescence: singly or in small groups in leaf axils or on the ends of branchlets.
Flowers: yellow; pedicels to 20 mm long; petals yellow, rarely white, 5 to 7 mm long, covered with woolly brown star-shaped hairs on the back; flowering in spring.
