BotanyPerennial herbaceous plants.
Root: cylindrical, thick, simple or branched; 1 to 5 cm in diameter.
Stem: simple, very rarely weakly branched; erect; 12 to 38 cm, ± 3 mm thick; sparsely short-pile.
Leaves: 2 to 13 cm long, 1 to 6 cm wide; lanceolate, V-shaped curved along the middle vein; short pile hairy, slightly curved at the bottom, pointed or blunt at the tip, partially halberd at the base; auricle long, 0.5-2.6 × 0.3-1.5 cm, broad at the tip, narrowed at the base, curved towards the body; petiole 0.2-1.8 cm long, sparse short pubescent hair. Flower: axillary; solitary; flower stalk 1 to 5 cm long, sparse short pile hairy; flower cover 4 to 11 cm; outer brown or almost black purple, sparse short pile hairy; chamber rectangular-ovoid; ± 1 cm long, ± 1 cm; tube U-shaped curved, 0.8-5.4 cm long, 0.4-1 at the base and 0.6-1.4 cm wide at the top; moon broadly ovoid, 1-5,3 × 0,8-4 cm, concave at the edge, sharp at the tip, sometimes yellow-white speckled inside, dense short brown-beige hairy at the throat, bare at the edge; auricle 0.5-1.6 × 0.8-1.4 cm, bowl-shaped, drooping down, bare; gynostemium 0.4-0.5 × 0.6-0.9 cm.
Fruit: top opening webbed capsule, 3.7-5.2 × 3.6-3.9 cm.
