Habitat: rain-forest, fringing forest adjacent savannah; clayey soil with humus; lower and middle storey tree of the lowland, humid, dense rain-forest.
Use: edible fruit; traditional medicine.

Botany
Tree, 10 - 30 metres tall; bole can be 40 - 80cm in diameter
Fruit: large, with a good flavour; 25 - 50 cm x 20 - 30 cm; well-fleshed, soft, yellow, sweet-sour taste, from sweet and delicious to somewhat sour.
