Region: Sierra Nevada mountains.
Habitat: need bright sunlight; intolerant of hard frost; prefers great drainage and deep, infrequent water, well-draining soil, with 50% to 70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite.
Use: ornamental, colorful ground cover, waterwise or fire-resistant landscaping.
