Habitat: rainforest, semi-deciduous forest; elevations from 90 - 860 metres.
Use: timber for construction, panelling, joinery, furniture-making, cabinet work, carpentry, flooring, stairs, turnery, veneers.
BotanyTree; about 20 m high, can grow taller; bole he straight, cylindrical.
Stem: straight, cylindrical; 70 cm in diameter; flutings or buttresses at the base; heartwood is light yellow, sometimes with grey or dark veins, not demarcated from the sapwood; texture is fine; grain straight or slightly interlocked; wood light to moderately heavy, soft to moderately hard, not very durable, susceptible to fungi, dry wood borers and termites, high risk of checking, slight risk of distortion; poorly stable in service.
