Family
Synonym: Chamaerhodiola dumulosa; Chamaerhodiola wulingensis; Rhodiola wulingense; Sedum dumulosum.
Region: China, Gansu, Hebei, Hubei, Jilin, Nei Mongol, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Sichuan, Yunnan; Bhutan, Myanmar.
Habitat: on rocks on slopes; altitude 1600 to 4100 m.
Content: beta-sitosterol, herbacetin-8-methyl ether, kaemperol, kaemperol-7-O-alpha-L-rhamnoside, beta-sitosterol glucoside, herbacetin-7-alpha-L-rhamnoside; beta-sitosterol glucoside, chrysophanol-8-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside, rhodionin, crenuloside, herbacetin-7-O-(3"-beta-D-glucopyranosyl)-alpha-L-rhamnoside.
BotanyStem: caudex branched, robust; 5 to 28 cm tall.
Leaves: alternate, sessile, linear to broadly, 7 to 10 mm long, 1 to 2 mm wide; margin entire, apex subacute.
Inflorescence: cymose, 4-7-flowered; persistent old blooming stems present as remnants, aggregated apically on caudex, simple, erect or curved, 5 to 28 cm.
Flowers: unequally 5-merous; blooming June to July.
Calyx: sepals linear-lanceolate; ± 4 cm long, ± 0.8 mm wide; base broad, apex acuminate.
Corolla: petals erect, white or red, lanceolate-oblong± 1 cm long, 2 to 3 mm wide; margin entire or sparsely fimbriate, apex acuminate and long mucronate.
Androecium: stamens 10, shorter than petals; antesepalous ones ± 7 mm; antepetalous ones ± 3 mm, inserted ± 3 mm from petal base; nectar scales transversely oblong, apex emarginate.
Gynoecium: carpels erect, ovoid-oblong, 6 to 9 mm long; base connate for 1-1.5 mm.
Seeds oblong, finely mammillate, narrowly winged.
