Region: northeastern Queensland, Australia.
Habitat: rainforests of the wet tropics.
Use: indoor plant.
BotanyLarge trees; to 30 m tall; primitive characteristics.
Roots: lacks the cluster roots.
Leaves: simple and oblanceolate when young, large lobed intermediate leaves soon appear; 90 cm long; up to nine lobes up to 20 cm long each; simple, spathulate or oblanceolate when adults and up to 17 cm (7 in) long and leathery.
Inflorescence: racemes; at the end of branches.
Flowers: pinkish.
Fruit: flattened oval; 3.5-4 by 3 cm; contains many seeds.
