Region: subtropical America, central Mexico.
Habitat: deciduous forests, between 1600 and 2400 m.
Botany
Evergreen shrub; 60 cm high.
Leaves: oval to suborbicular; 2 to 10 com long, 1 to 6 cm wide; cuneiform base, acute or acuminate apex; petiole glabrous, 3-15 mm long.
Flowers: campanulate tubular perianth; ± 5 mm long; white to pinkish; stamens 6 to 11, exsertate;
Inflorescence: axillary or terminal umbels; with 20 to 30 flowers.
Fruits: obovoid; 6 to 11 mm long.
