English: Large-bracted pachyphytum.

Stem: leafy; up to 30 cm tall; ± 3 mm thick; scars, circular from fallen leaves.
Leaves: purplish or bluish green; thick; flattened; oblanceolate and terete, growing upwards; 5 cm long; lower leaves grow at a right angle to the stem; upper leaves are erect or curved; peduncles grow upwards of 30 cm long.
Inflorescence: simple; elongate, 20 to 60 cm long; curved at the apex and is secund; with numerous bracts, arranged in two imbricated rows
Flowers: short pedicels; blooming in summer.
Calyx: sepals 5; unequal; two lateral sepals, long obtuse, oblong, 8.4 mm long; three other shorter sepals.
Corolla: dark red; five spreading lobes; ± 5 mm long. Androecium: stamens 5, alternate with the petals; free from the corolla; other five are borne on the petals; anthers ovate.
Gynoecium: carpels 5, erect; with a broad scale at their base; styles subulate; stigmas capitate.
