Region: tropical Africa, Sierra Leone to Ethiopia, south to S. Africa.
Habitat: riverine, lowland, submontane, montane and upper montane forest; thicket.
Use: wood for fuel; wood for building poles, whipsticks and tool handles; tree for shade and amenity.
