English: Nevada oryctes.
Region: small area of desert straddling the California to Nevada border.
Habitat: in deep sand.
BotanySmall annual herb; only seen in years with certain rainfall amounts and temperature ranges; 20 cm tall. Leaves: sticky, scaly; ± 2 cm long; linear to oval; divided into lobes: sometimes wavy along the edges. Inflorescences: umbels of a few flowers, in leaf axils.
Flowers: tiny, purplish; rounded into an urn shape; ± 2 mm wide. Fruit: spherical capsule; containing several seeds.
