Inflorescences: globe-shape, with a flattened top, 10 to 12 cm in diameter, two or three together mostly at a right angle to its branch.
Flowers: perianth is ± 3 cm long, yellow, orange or crimson; style ± 5 cm long, sticking out horizontally, curving upwards near the obliquely, shell-shaped, thicker pollen presenter; appearance of a pincushion; flowering from July till November.
Pollination: by birds.
Dispersion: by ants, which carry them to their underground nests.
