Family
English: Shining hookeria.
Habitat: shaded, moist, humid sites; in flushes, on woodland banks, streamsides, riversides, on flat ground in fen carr and woodland, on sides of ravines, in crevices in cliffs and boulders.
Ecology: grows with Chrysosplenium oppositifolium, Molinia in open areas.
BotanyStem: 2 to 6 cm long; pale or bright green; rather 2-dimensional; looks like a liverwort.
Leaves: enormous, visible, more or less hexagonal cells, extending to the margins; 5 mm long, 3 mm wide; rounded at the tip and have no nerve. Capsules: quite common; about 2 mm long; dark brown; seta about 2 cm tall; carried horizontally or sloping slightly downwards.
