Habitat: cool-temperate rainforests.
Botany: tree, evergreen or deciduous, dominant tree, to 30 metres high; young plants often grow as hemiepiphytes; leaves pinnate, ± 10 cm long, with 5–13 leaflets, often 3 on flowering branches; leaflets oblong, ± 5 cm long, ± 1 cm wide, entire, leathery, upper surface is dark green and glabrous, lower surface is white-tomentose; petiole is ± 2 cm long; lateral leaflets are sessile.
