BotanyHerb; evergreen; succulent; forming short-stemmed, tight rosettes, 25 cm wide, usually solitary, occasianally forming a small clump; slow growing; 25 cm tall.
Stem: stout, caudex-like, very short; 5 to 7 cm tall, 3 cm in diameter.
Leaves: fleshy, oval-shaped, keeled, pale bluish-green; ± 12 cm long, ± 8 cm wide; turgid; obovate or widely lanceolate, obtuse; mucronate to acute silvery-grey to pale green, with pink to purple-red slightly wavy margin; slightly glaucous.
Inflorescence: 6 to 12 branched cymose-panicle, to 1 m tall; ± 5 flowers per branch.
Flowers: red, yellow inside; pedicel reddish, 1 to 2 mm long; sepals up to 13 ascending; calyx up to 14 mm long, ! 11 mm in diameter; petals red.
