English: Elegant crassula.
Region: south-western Namibia.
Habitat: sandy or gravelly slopes or quartzite outcrops; shady spots, also in exposed positions.
BotanyHerb; perennial.
Stem: fleshy, slightly woody base; 10 cm Tall; short, much branched
Leaves: sessile; ± 1 cm long, 0,4 – 1 cm wide; ovate to lanceolate; obtuse to acute; flat to slightly convex above and strongly convex below; densely packed; internodes invisible; not strictly arranged in 4 ranks; glabrous or covered with fine erect and acute hairs or with coarse rounded papillae; old shriveled leaves persistent; colour green, brown to purplish-red.
Inflorescence: terminal thyrse; with spreading branches with dichasia.
Flowers: sessile; peduncle 1 to 6 cm long, covered with slightly recurved hairs; bracts short oblong-triangular; apex bluntly acute; sepals ± 1 mm long, triangular, obtuse, covered with spreading and often slightly recurved hairs, marginal cilia, fleshy, green to red; petals 2 to 2,5 mm long, oblong-elliptic, obtuse, slightly ridged, with dorsal appendage, tips recurved, colour cream or white, fading to brown; anthers brown; blooming from January to April.
Cytology: 2n = 28.
