Leaves: gray-green; 13 cm long, 7 cm wide; with a white powdery substance, reflecting sunlight and conserving water.
Flowers: orange-red, also yellow varieties; bell-shaped; small, up to 3 cm long;droop from the top of a 60 cm tall stalk; tubular, no bulges; 20 mm long, 9 mm diameter; bent back crown tips are orange, red or yellow, 12 mm long; stamens protrude 2 to 3 mm; anthers yellow, elongated, 1.75 mm in diameter; nectar scales are slightly transversely elongated, dull, yellowish green, 1.5 × 2 mm in size; stamens 10, attached to the base of the corolla; 5 carpels each have a style longer than the ovary; blooming in winter.
