Recent news is that a virus is discovered for chronic fatigue syndrome. It still has to be confirmed, but it looks promising. This will change the attitude to the chronic fatigue syndrome and the patients drastically, both medicinally and socially. In the past such patients were mostly not taken seriously. They were seen as having no real disease, as if they were feigning their complaints, as if it was something " between their ears". Consequently insurance companies often didn't want to pay for the syndrome.
Now a virus is discovered the insurance companies will have to pay out. The doctors will treat patients with chronic fatigue syndrome as real patients and will understand them ouch better.
This change is quite strange in a way, especially for the patients. For them basically nothing has changed, their symptoms re the same. It is only the label that makes them taken seriously. That happens quite often in Normal medicine. Patients that are not understood are send away, treated as charlatans or betrayers. Doctors often have the expression "Madame you have no disease". This is very confusing for patients because the complaints are very real for them. SO how a doctor tell that they have nothing.
Scientifically this situation is very undesirable. In the past the virus has also been there. Just the fact that it wasn't known made doctors treat it as a non-disease. In homeopathy this situation doesn't occur. The symptoms are always taken seriously, they are what they are. For homeopathy the chronic fatigue syndrome isn't changed basically with the discovery of the virus. It will be treated basically the same. The knowledge of the virus is a welcome addition, but the symptoms stay the same.
