BotanyGangly evergreen shrub; 2 meters tall.
Stems, new twigs, are purple in color, slightly hairy.
Leaves: hairy, oval, pointed; green; 13 cm long.
Inflorescences: plentiful; at the tips of stem branches, with ± 10 hairy red flowers.
Flowers: tubular; 2 or 3 cm long; elongated calyx; long corolla.
Fruit: berry; 1 to 2 cm wide; red on the outside and white inside; with about 10 small brown seeds.
