IntroductionThe situation is that of people living in a hopeless situation without any opportunities to get out of it. They have no resources, little education and no money. They can just about survive on the food they have. It gives a hopeless feeling, despair. The only way out is to make fun of it, to become stupid and sarcastic. Another way out is drugs.
Stage 17 can be deduced from the hopelessness and despair, the drug abuse and stupid laughing.
HopelessBeneath the laughter is hopelessness. They feel there is no job, no money, no nice woman, no future. Life looks like a desert, boring and offering no opportunities.
StupidIt makes them lazy and stupid. They lack any concentration to do a normal task. They make mistakes in calculating and writing, do not even know anymore how to do it. They have dyslexia and dyscalculi, confusing words and numbers, for instance saying garbage instead of cabbage. They seem stupid, as if going into dementia.
They have no intention of doing anything, they just want to lie down flat and do nothing, Mexican style. It is hopeless anyhow.
HilariousThey can have a lot of fun, laughing and giggling about trifles. They are cheerful, funny, making jokes. It can lead to exhilaration, almost maniacal, like sticking their tongue out. They like to take drugs for fun.
MindThey do not want to be told what to do.
