English: Ethanol; Ethyl alcohol; Spirits of wine.
CommentThe addiction to alcohol depends on how it is metabolised. In some people it is mostly metabolised into acetaldehyde, which give a good feeling and thus leads easily to addiction. Acetaldehyde is metabolised in acetate, which gives feelings of fatigue and hangover. In people that metabolise fast into acetate the tendency to addiction is low.
